Listed below is a brief description of some of the events we offer:
Social: Social gatherings include an annual picnic/BBQ, cruises, and annual awards banquet. Our social director is always looking for suggestions for new activities our members would enjoy.
Autocross: (low speed) This event is a time-based competition that tests your driving skills through a mini road course of pylons. The course is usually set up in a parking lot, and participants are timed separately driving through the course.
Rallye: This is a competition event on paved roads where you follow a prescribed route at the posted speed limits to a defined finish point. You pass through checkpoints along the way and calculate your distance. Other events linked to a rallye can include a poker event and trivia questions.
Drive-Out: All drive-outs have cars driving together with a lead and tail car. The lead car and tail car remain in contact with each other using FRS/GMRS radios. Cars in the middle may or may not have FRS/GMRS radios depending on the owner’s preference. · Semi-Monthly Drive Out (Sundays) – Can be a predetermined destination or if not predetermined it will be decided at the time of the event. Most events begin by meeting at McDonald’s in Moline (near the airport) or occasionally at Hardee’s in Eldridge. These events involve all cars driving on a scenic route to the destination followed by lunch, and a return trip to the Quad-City area. Destinations are typically 1-1/2 to 2 hours away from the Quad Cities area. · Seasonal Drive Out (Spring and Fall) – The predetermined destination is selected months in advance of the scheduled event. These events typically last 4 days in length beginning on Thursday and ending on Sunday. There is an organizer of the event that will plan the scenic route, lodging, social activities, and dining locations.
Car Show: All of these are listed on our website (noted above). These include both local and regional (with a couple of hours of the Quad City area). Some members go to these events to compete for prizes and awards while others go as spectators.
