BY-LAWS

MID-WEST CORVETTE CLUB


ARTICLE I – ACTIVITIES

A.The Chairman of any event will be responsible for the calculating and the scoring for the event. No awards will be given for the event until the computations have been verified.
B.The Chairman will receive no financial reimbursement for fuel, wear and tear, etc.
C.The Chairman shall be responsible for organizing all equipment for the event.
D.Types of recognized events are:
    1.Rallies
    2.Gymkhanas and Autocrossing
    3.Dragstrip competition
    4.Concours and car show
    5.Drive-outs
    6.Social events
    7.Parades
ARTICLE II – AWARDS
A.Year End Awards
1.Outstanding Club Member Award (No more than 2 awards –
each award can be given to either an individual or to a couple.)
To be awarded on the basis of a club member’s overall performance in categories 2 and 3 below (Club Participation and Personal Commitment.)
2.Club Participation Award (Presented to the top ten point leaders.)
Annual points will be awarded as follows:
    a. Attendance at a monthly business meeting 1 pt.
    b. Attendance at a monthly social event 1 pt.
    c. Host a monthly social event 1 pt.(per host)
    d. Drive in a MWC/NCCC sanctioned event 1 pt.
    e. Work a MWC/NCCC sanctioned event 1 pt.
    f. Chair a MWC/NCCC sanctioned event 1 pt.
        (Chairperson is required to actively plan and
        manage the event, not a signature only.)
    g. Drive in a MWC sponsored parade 1 pt.
    h. Attend annual MWC picnic 1 pt.
    i. Attend annual MWC fall drive-out 1 pt.
    j. Attend MWC annual awards banquet 1 pt.
    k. Participate in a scheduled event/drive 1 pt.
    l. Organize and/or plan a scheduled event/drive 1 pt.
A maximum of 3 pts. per day can be earned.
A list of events will be published in January of each year and modified as required throughout the year.
Points are awarded to an individual, not a couple.
Points are for MWC sponsored events only.
Corvettes must be used for all driving events.
No other annual points will be awarded for the Club Participation Award. Any changes will have to be presented to the membership as an Amendment to the By-Laws and are subject to Article IX Amendments in the MWC Constitution.
3.Personal Commitment Award (No more than 2 awards.)
This award is based on commitment to the club, i.e. serving on committees, volunteering to work when workers are needed, doing the “thankless” jobs in the club, organizing new club activities, and just being actively involved even though their car and/or points may not be available.
4.Competition Awards
    a. Racers of the Year (No more than 1 award for men and 1 award for women.) To be     determined by: Number and location of sanctioned and non-sanctioned events entered and  place  finished considering amount and ability of competition during the year.NCCC points earned for racing.
    b. Showers of the Year (No more than 2 awards – each award can be given to either an individual or a couple.) To be determined by:
Number of NCCC shows entered, finish, rank and distance traveled.
Number of non-NCCC shows entered, finish, rank and distance traveled.
Number of extra awards received, i.e. Best of Show, Best Paint, etc. No distinction will be made between Concours, Wash and Show or Street and Show.
    c. Ralliests of the Year (No more than 1 award for men and 1 award for women.) To be determined by:
Number and location of sanctioned and non-sanctioned rallies entered and place finished considering amount and ability of competition during the year.
NCCC points earned for rallying.
    d. Rookie of the Year (No more than 2 awards can be given to either an individual or a couple.)
To be awarded to a first full year member based on criteria listed under 2 and 3 above (Club Participation and Personal Commitment Award). Points will be used as a guideline only.
Any of the above awards may be omitted for any year they are not deemed appropriate. A Corvette must be used in all events covered in Section 4 in order to be eligible for those awards.
Awards Records

1The Vice President will keep records of club points.
2.A Board meeting will be held the week after the December club meeting. All records should be brought to this meeting by the Vice President. Awards will be decided upon at that time by the Board. Points for club events will be used to determine club participation awards.
ARTICLE III – LIABILITY
This club shall not be responsible for personal or property damages incurred as a result of participation in club events. A waiver shall be signed by each member as a condition of membership. The waiver will be part of the membership application. All those under legal age must have their waivers signed by a parent or guardian before participation in the event.
ARTICLE IV – CLUB PARTICIPATION POINTS
Accumulated points for club participation awards will be published quarterly by the Vice-President.
ARTICLE V – AMENDMENTS TO THE BY-LAWS
Proposed amendments shall be presented to the general membership in writing and voted upon at the following business meeting. A simple majority vote is needed to amend. Maintenance of the By-Laws will be the same as Article IX B of the Constitution.
ARTICLE VI – PARLIAMENTARY PROCEDURES
In all our Parliamentary Procedures, we adopt Robert’s “Rules of Order” as our guidelines.
