Mid-West Corvettes, Inc. Secretary’s Report February 5, 2008
President Al Fiscus called the meeting to order at 7:00 P.M.
Secretary’s Report: The minutes from the previous meeting were read and approved.
Treasurer’s Report: Ben Woolley reported that he paid Arbor Village Clubhouse for the banquet, Quad City Laminating for the club awards and he also paid for the lanyards. He received monies from 61 members for the banquet.
Governor’s Report: Walt Zachmeyer reported the flyers for the rally are ready to be sent out. He received the NCCC membership pocket planners and pins and will distribute them to members.
Social: Don VanDeWoestyne has set Friday, August 22 for the Budweiser night at Stern Beverage.
We have a few people who have volunteered to set up Sunday drive outs. Anyone else who wishes to arrange a drive out, please contact Al.
Speed: Don VanDeWoestyne said our spring Rally will be April 6 and the Autocross will be July 27.
Don presented a patch to Ken Anderson for participating in 14 low-speed and high-speed events in 2007. Congratulations Ken.
Car Show: No report.
Historian: Waldo Arnholz had information from our 40th Anniversary.
Parades: No report.
Quartermaster: Scott Fleming brought the new lanyards which the club will sell for $2.
Charity: Cindy Johnson held two 50/50 $15 drawings for the charity fund, won by Terry Sierens and Jerry Paskvan. She said $95 was raised at our annual banquet. Drawings were won by Lagaisse’s, Cook’s and VanDeWoestyne’s. All returned their winnings. Cindy also received $20 from Mike Tope for charity.
Membership: Walt reported that Ron and Judy Myers are new members. We now have 148 members and 113 of them are in NCCC.
Sunshine: Terry Sierens reported she sent out several cards last month for birthdays, anniversaries and thank yous. She asked everyone to let her know of any serious illness or deaths in our immediate families.
Publicity: No report.
Webmaster: The website is up to date. Walt still needs the dates for the socials as soon as they are available.
New Business:
Old Business: Jane Huber has completed the name badges, but she was unable to be here tonight.
Dave Chambers has booked 21 rooms at the Grand Old Opry Hotel for May 2-3, 18 are spoken for. The normal cost would be $560 and Dave got the rooms and Opry tickets for $375. If you wish to attend, let Dave know. They will leave on Thursday, maybe drive to Bowling Green and then on to Nashville, leaving for home after breakfast on Sunday.
Thank you to Ellen Hobert for arranging a successful Awards Banquet. Dave said 55 members were in attendance including Rolly and Pam Bogert from Wisconsin. Since Walt was not at the banquet, Ron presented his award for Outstanding Club Member and Club Participation.

Denny Waddell kept the traveling Burn Out Award Broken Glass Award goes to Bill Porter Key Award is unclaimed this year
There was further discussion about whether or not the club should purchase helmets. It was tabled until more information is available. Walt will make some calls to check on the required helmet specs so we would be sure to get the correct ones. A suggestion was made that we could charge for the use of company helmets.
We had a good turn out this evening in spite of the bad weather. A motion was made and seconded to adjourn the meeting at 7:42 P.M. Motion carried.
Al invited everyone to City Limits.
