Secretary’s Report

March 6, 2007

President Ron Johnson called the meeting to order at 7:00 PM.

Secretary’s Report:  The minutes from the previous meeting were read and approved.

Treasurer’s Report:  Ben Woolley reported on the status of our accounts.  Bills were presented for Keokuk Trophy for rally plaques, Sunshine and for internet service.  He received dues from new members, and money from the company store.  A motion was made and seconded to pay the bills.  Motion carried.

Governor’s Report:  Walt Zachmeyer reported that the NCCC quarterly meeting was held in St. Louis last month.  He will report on the meeting details next month.  Walt and Don completed and distributed the flyer for the MWCC Triple Rally to be held April 1.

We will have the July 29 Autocross at The Mark and need to get the location secured and obtain insurance for the event.

Social:  The Bowling Green drive is May 3-5, reservations should be made as soon as possible.  There is interest in extending this trip to go to Nashville.  Dave Chambers has ten rooms reserved at the Grand Old Opry Hotel in Nashville.  Please contact Dave as soon as possible if you plan on going to Nashville.

The Great River Spring Drive to Hannibal is May 18-20.  Contact Ron Johnson for hotel information.  We plan on leaving about 9:30 Friday morning, having lunch at Muddy’s in Burlington and return on Sunday.

The next social event will be hosted by Bud and Sheila Jones and Jerry and Sandy Paskvan on April 28.  It will be held at Jones’ house in Eldridge and they will e-mail directions and details at a later date.  Please e-mail Jones or Paskvans if you plan on coming.  As soon as specific dates are available for the May, August, and September socials, please advise Walt so he can add it to the calendar.

Speed:  Don VanDeWoestyne encouraged good attendance at the April 1 Rally as this can be a major fundraiser for our club.  This will be a three-event rally, including distance,  gimmick rallies and poker.  You can sign up for one or all events.  Cost is $10 per car per event or $25 for all three events.  It will start at Eriksens with registration starting at 9:00  Sunday morning, followed by a drivers’ meeting.  The rally is not limited to Corvettes.   A brochure is on the website.
