Mid-West Corvettes, Inc. Secretary’s Report April 3, 2007
President Ron Johnson called the meeting to order at 7:00 PM. He thanked everyone for their calls, cards and concern regarding his recent surgery.
Secretary’s Report: The minutes from the previous meeting were read and approved.
Treasurer’s Report: Ben Woolley reported on the status of our accounts. A motion was made and seconded to pay the bills. Motion carried. The club received $995 proceeds from the spring rallye and $600 from our club sponsor, Bob Eriksen’s.
Governor’s Report: Walt Zachmeyer reported we have 105 NCCC members and will now qualify for the 100 plus club. He discussed events in the Midwest Region going on in April and May. See him for individual fliers or check the NCCC website for details. He presented 2006 Championship Series Qualifier racing patches to Ken Anderson and Don VanDeWoestyne.
Social: Bill Porter reported 23 cars going to Bowling Green May 3-5. He will contact everyone who has signed up. The group will leave Thursday and visit the Corvette factory on Friday morning and the museum in the afternoon. On Saturday there is an optional trip to Nashville. There are still three rooms available in Nashville. See Dave Chambers if you need a room. The price is $140.00, which includes one night’s stay at the Grand Old Opry Hotel and tickets to the Grand Old Opry. The Great River Spring Drive to Hannibal is May 18-20.
Sunday drives start May 6th. Interested club members meet twice a month from May to September at the Moline Holiday Inn by the Airport at 10:00 AM. Points are awarded for a member who plans the route and dinner location and also for those participating in the drive.
The next social event will be co-hosted by Bud and Sheila Jones & Jerry and Sandy Paskvan at the Jones’ home on April 28th at 6:30 PM. They will be serving ham and sloppy joe’s. Sheila had maps to their home available and Walt will also email them to the members. Please bring a dish to pass and your own beverage. Randy and Jane Huber volunteered to host August’s social event.
Speed: The Spring Rallye was a huge success with 38 cars participating. Don VanDeWoestyne thanked the committee and all the workers for a great job. The autocross is scheduled for July 29th at the National Guard Air Hangar at the Mt. Joy airport.

Historian: No Report
Parades: No report
Quartermaster: Neil Schroder reported for Scott that the denim shirts arrived. Cost is $20.
Charity: Cindy Johnson reported we netted $60 from the Poker Run (extra cards) and $89 from the 50/50 held at the Spring Rallye. Neal Schroder and Randy Wlaskolich won the 50/50 drawings Cindy held at the meeting.
Membership: Walt Zachmeyer informed us that we now have 134 members. He is sending out a new membership list today.
Sunshine: Terry Sierens sent 7 cards in February and 7 cards in March to our members.
Publicity: The Spring Rallye was advertised in the Quad City Times and The Dispatch/Argus according to Waldo Arnholz

Old Business: None
New Business: Ron Johnson read a thank you note from Rolly and Pam regarding the jackets, life time membership and other gifts awarded to them at the banquet.
Al Fiscus told us that Paul Castle’s daughter contacted him and offered to loan us pictures from the early days of our club for our 50th Anniversary celebration. Paul was the Mid-West Corvettes founder and some of our members participated in his funeral processional. The family appreciated this and wants to share these photos with us.
We had 57 members in attendance.
A motion was made and seconded to adjourn the meeting at 7:40 PM. Motion carried.
