Secretary’s Report

April 1, 2008

 

 

President Al Fiscus called the meeting to order at 7:00 P.M.

 

Secretary’s Report:  The minutes from the previous meeting were read and approved.

 

Treasurer’s Report:  Ben Woolley reported that he paid for stamps, office and club store supplies.  He also paid for the plastic name tag holders, hats that Ken Anderson purchased and rally printing costs.  He received monies from the club store.  Motion made and passed to pay the bills.

 

Governor’s Report:  Walt Zachmeyer was not present.

 

Social:  Dave Chambers reported 15 cars are going on the Nashville trip.  They leave Thursday, May 1. 

 

Speed:  Don VanDeWoestyne said Sunday’s Rally registration starts at 8:30, drivers’ meeting at l0:00, first car out at 10:15.  We should have participants from Chicago,

Quincy and Cedar Rapids.  Come with a full tank of gas and bring your NCCC card.  We will end up at the Forest Inn restaurant in Morrison, Illinois. This is not for speed, take your time and enjoy the day.

 

The Autocross is still scheduled for July 27.  A new location, the Caterpillar parking lot, is being considered.

 

Car Show:  Neal Schroder said the Chevy Vette Fest is in Rosemont, IL this weekend.  River Valley Classics drive outs will be at Northpark Mall starting June 21, July 26, August 16, September 20, October 4 starting at 5:00 till 10:00.  The first Quad City Cruisers drive out will be April 19 at Southpark Mall.  See Neal for more details.

 

Historian:  No report.

 

Parades:  No report.

 

Quartermaster:  Jane Huber handed out the new name tags and plastic holders.  Scott had the lanyards for sale this evening.  Plastic holders sold for $1 and the lanyards for $2.

 

Charity:  Cindy Johnson held two 50/50 $18 drawings for the charity fund, won by Fay Anderson and Randy Huber.  Faye turned her winnings back to Cindy for the spina bifida charity.

 

Membership:  No report.

 

Sunshine:  Terry Sierens recently sent out 26 cards.

 

Publicity:  No report.

 

Webmaster:  No report.     

 

New Business:   Mark Hermann is planning a drive out to Dyersville on May 18.  This will include an “architectural” tour of a church, a basilica and monastery.  Lunch will be at the Country Junction Restaurant.  Please e-mail Mark if you plan to attend this drive out so he can make reservations at the restaurant.

 

Old Business:   Denny brought a supply of MWCC business cards.  Please use to distribute to prospective members.

 

We had 63 in attendance this evening.  A motion was made and seconded to adjourn the meeting.  Motion carried.

 

Al invited everyone to City Limits.
